Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab started Cholistan Jeep Rally event in the majestic desert of Cholistan in 2005 with a view to promote southern Punjab as a winter destination and to promote motorsport in Pakistan. Since 2012 the event is organized on the second weekend of February every year. The event is organized with the support of District Government Bahawalpur, Cholistan Development Authority, Houbara Foundation International, Pakistan and 4x4 Club Bahawalpur.
